I have just taken a look at all this information re Krausgrill family and I tend to agree that this is possibly the same family as cresswell, I seem to recall my father mentioning something about a german connection in the family and it looks like it's been found, thank you to everyone who has posted information you have all been very helpful, I never considered a name change I thought possibly they were a travelling family , Jacob ( my great grandfather ) only appeared in 1891 census just before he married Minnie so this leads me to believe he had changed his name as suggested above, |
