dear flick ,no this mary morton is no relation,my fathers sisters were ivy knox morton[she married her cousin thomas morton ,and had a retarded girl early part of war ,she died only being on this earth about 3 years ] monica mary my other aunt married a edwin randall ,they are all dead except for my cousin christpher ,we keep in touch.it is a pity how families die out .this why i am trying to find any whittakers so far no success .robert m whittaker [emily,s brother] i think died in 1945 aged 82years in york ,but cannot get any names of his chilren ,not sure how i do this .regards mgt .just thought the mortons all came from nthmbld ,near chillingham they were farmers for chillingham castle --lord tan kafield -now sir humphrey wakefield .i remember my grt grandmother sarah morton she died about 1943ish .she ended up in seton delaval .regards mgt |

hi flick ,sorry i got at you please forgive . you have just come up with the family 1871 i must have got my dates wrong ,i do know she died in 1918 or1919 the flu epidemic.emily was my grandmother she married a george morton in 1902 .i am now going to try and find their chilren ,thankyou for your help i may still get back to you for help please thankyou again mgt |

It looks very much as though Emily lied about her age...........in 1911, she was admitting to being TWO years older than her husband, but it should in fact have been TEN |

thankyou flick ,sorry i did not get back ,but my husband was not well ,last night and this morning .he 'happens 'to be only 83years old and needs nursing care ,as i am an ex nurse i am of 78 years old .and cannot do 2 jobs at once 'used to '. ---Emily whittaker was born in 1875 at fulford heslington yorkshire .her father was henry whittaker born in 1850 at the same place. he was married to a mary strickland .what i ant to know , do they have any descenents alive so i can get in touch with them .thankyou for your help |

can't find any birth record of an Emily Whittaker in Heslington (York as opposed to Haslingden Lancs) in the time scale given. |

The birth year of 1876 as given by the OP is not correct.......the 1911 census is backed up by Emily's death record |
