Find Ancestors

Martha married William Blakeman in 1865 and according to the marriage cert, her father was Benjamin Poole. However, as I cannot find anything else about Benjamin I wondered if his name was just picked out of a hat so to speak. Or if Mary was widowed and then married another POOLE? you can see I amclutching at straws !!!

that is what I wanted to know.

I have been looking for the parents of Martha really, but cannot find who they are, on family search it had all those children and all with parents Thomas and Mary, all but Martha and she only had her mother Mary no mention of her father, so I am unsure if she is their sister. I suppose it could still be her and for various reasons her father's name is withheld.
