I would like to find out more about Barbara (Kitty) Doidge who was born in Plymouth in Quarter March 1908 and her parents were John E T Doidge of Plymouth and Kitty Dashper.

I found out that Barbara Doidge was the winner of the beauty contest and won the prize of 500 pounds I think. It helped with the spending of her wedding! I am not sure when she won the contest. I would like to ask you if it is possible for you to look up for the local newspaper to find the article about her and the beauty contest. Possibly with Plymouth newspapers. I am aware that Barbara was married to Arthur C Lewis in Quarter March 1931 at Plymouth and so maybe the contest would be before that year.

I cant find the death of Barbara and I would be grateful if you would look up for her death.

Any information is very welcome.

actually, I was just going off the fact that the newspaper that was carrying th report of her winning th title was a NZ paper

I am overwhelmed with all the information. Thank you so much for looking up. . There was an image of Barbara in the New Zealand paper with other two winners encouraged women to join the beauty contest in New Zealand like the UK one.

I was told that she died young. Thanks for looking up for her death date. Now I know when she died. It is Plymouth, Devon. How interesting about 1911 census. Where was she at that time? Maybe visiting someone or family at that time?

Thank you so much for your help in searching for census 1911. It is very kind of you. How interesting. Maybe Barbara went to visit her friend at the same age to play with. Maybe they have her age wrong! Strange that her name was mentioned in the bmd that she was born in 1908!

I have tried to search for Leonard's marriage and death in freebmd, familysearch, ancestry but no luck. I cant access to Ancestry for freebmd as I think you have to pay after bmd after 1900s upwards. I wonder if you are a member of this website to search for him?

I am not sure if Leonard was married to Lilian F Goldsworthy at Plymouth in Quarter Sept 1932?

Any information is very welcome.
