I am trying to find birth details together with parents and siblings details of the above. I have gained through the census two of John's children, Thomas born 1770 and William born 1776. John married a Betty Courties in June 1765. |

Sorry just seen your second response. This is where I am confused, so the family had two children by the name of Thomas and one died? Was this normal practice do you know then? |

in my family my Dad had a siter called Nancy who died as a baby - when the next little girl was born the children all said "We have another Nancy" so Nancy she was called - this was common practice |

Yes, quite common to name another child the same name as one that died. |

14 to be married gosh never realised that, can't imagine letting my kids get married at that age. That is good to know as I have been dismissive of information when the "groom" appeared to young. |

Well it's not often i have came across it,as it would be hard to care for a family on a minors wage. |
