HI Sylvia
samuel was born in 1847 i assume on the way to australia be married elizabeth dodd frater in 1883 in victoria australia . i think if i can find out when they came to australia it will all fit together any clues on this...petrina

so if Samuel was born at sea in 1847, then the thought is that Silas and Ellen married pre-1847, in England

I cannot find ANY reference to a Silas Golding marrying an Ellen


I wonder

a) were they not married when Samuel was born

b) did they marry in Australia


c) if you got this informationf rom Samuel's marriage certificate in Australia ..... did he provide the wrong information?



Silas Golding just disappears after his birth. He is not with the family on the 1841, and neither Flick nor I have found him elsewhere on that census.
