I cannot find ANY reference to a Silas Golding marrying an Ellen


I wonder

a) were they not married when Samuel was born

b) did they marry in Australia


c) if you got this informationf rom Samuel's marriage certificate in Australia ..... did he provide the wrong information?



Silas Golding just disappears after his birth. He is not with the family on the 1841, and neither Flick nor I have found him elsewhere on that census.

so if Samuel was born at sea in 1847, then the thought is that Silas and Ellen married pre-1847, in England

a big thankyou to all that helped me in a big way havent used this before to now able to reply to everyone. yes silas and ellen im sure were married in england as they had a son samuel who was born at sea but can not find any details as yet. this part of the golding family moved to geelong victoria australia but finding it hard to find out when they came over any ideas thanks again petrina

IF you think they might have married in Victoria ........ I pesume that being Victoria, Australia not Canada or South Africa ....... then it might help if you added Australia to your heading as that would attract the Australian helpers on site.
