Known children
Eliza Beatrice 1912-1995 - my grandmother
Edward 1914
Fred 1915
Jane 1917
believe there were 2 more children Jack & Renee but have not details
Beatrice was the daughter of Frederick & Agnes Wilkinson
I have not yet found Johns parents.

Curious & wondering if either were married previously as they were aged 35 & 46 when they wed?

I have a big problem with your info and dates.

There is no Beatrice Wilkinson aged approx 4 on 1881 census.
No Agnes Wilkinson married to Frederick either

If this is their marriage then it was after the date you give for Beatrice's birth.

I assume you do have the marriage cert for Beatrice and John Hague, giving her age , status as a spinster and father's name as Frederick Wilkinson ????

or had she been married before ??

I live in Australia, and moved here when I was 6

I do know for certain that Beatrice Wilkinson was my great grand mother, she was the mother of my grand mother (Eliza Beatrice Hague B 9.1.1912) as shown on my grandmothers birth certificate (which I have). All my Hague family are from Sheffield - Ecclesall Bierlow

I do know that my great grandfather was John Thomas Hague, John T on most records - my mum remembers his name

I do not know if either Thomas or Beatrice were married before - most women of their time appeared to be married in early 20's and men certainly before 30 (Thomas was 46 and Beatrice 35 in thier September 1911 wedding) - it appears that my they were expecting before their marriage with beatrice born in the January 1912

I also agree that Beatrice would be rather old having children - wonder if her DOB is incorrect - and that she was born later - will look into this

Hi Dea, according to 4 trees on Ancestry.......Beatrice with parents Frederick and Agnes......married a John Shaw.

Yes - Of course, many of those trees are complete rubbish but that's why I was holding back on posting that 1891 census which I found yesterday.

I was waiting for more info from Rebecca!

It seems she has the marriage cert from 1911. - It would help if ALL the details on it, including witnesses etc. could be posted - we can then work back from there.

I was convinced the John Thomas Hague born 1884 would be the one and I even found his Army records on Ancestry - I think there were 20 pages, BUT, in such a poor state they were totally useless..drattt !!!

I got to the bit where it said next of kin and tthe whole piece was missing.

I am sure they would have been really helpful to us, if only.........

I will wait until Rebecca returns, I think.

Ok I had an email from another member, but now also from Dea above - but wrong family - This Beatrice would have been 35 in 1912 when her 1st child was born and too old to have the last 2 - so hence I thought this was not our Beatrice (also since discovered her 2nd name was Ann)- Also the family used the a given name to give their off spring their name, eg Beatrice Ann, had Eliza Beatrice, who had Sylvia Ann

So now I have to find the parents - as I thought they were Agnes & Frederick Wilkinson - however not the right one.

my great grand mother (Beatrice Ann) - my elderly mother was able to remember some of her uncle & aunts names so hence we were now looking in the right area - she gave me they year that 3 of them had died also
