The years of births can be out by a few years too on the census for whatever reason maybe they were not sure or wanted to be younger or older...places of birth may not be correct as they could not remember or just named a place they lived as a child

Never believe what you see in programs such as Who Do You Think You Are (lol). I hope you get that down under, it would seem only fair since you sent us Neighbours.

Although I suspect that it is quite a bit easier to find out about your ancestors if you have such things as an army of paid assistants working on your behalf, unlimited resources and private consultations with genealogical experts in places all around the world (All travel expences paid).
