Thank you everyone you have given me loads to get started with. I dont know much of the orange part just bits i have picked up from my uncles son nana must have talk with him about what she had found with me been young when she died all what she found was lost she knew more about the history in ireland

Emma's age is very clearly 30 on the image for 1881

John Kenny may well have been married twice (1881 Census)..his wife Emma would not be old enough to have been mother of Samuel and William....providing her age has been transcribed correctly...

The younger children were Baptised at Stranton Primative Methodist Chapel (Hartlepool) which would confirm a Prot.Religion.

It could be the descendents were Protestents from Sligo who embraced the Orange Order in the North East of England.

During my years in the North East my home town had ian Orange Club and Catholic Club. Probably still do and yes it was painted orange. My husband from the Republic found it all very odd.

There is no apparent NI link for this family.........the Orangemen are NI Protestants.

Strictly speaking, they were followers of William of Orange, but now they have a much wider remit

and I thought I was so good finding it before the experts - no seriously when you said you couldn't find it I did a double check to make sure I had the right one. I got it from Ancestry.

Have found out why... It appears Free BDM is missing a whole section for "all districts" nothing from June 1920 until March 1921

Vera...Have spent the past hour looking and like Flick came up with zero..!!

Sarah.....There is a Jessie Kenny Birth Reg Hartlepool June 1899...if you check out the 1901 and 1911 Census you should find her and the family on there...

There is NO marriage in England/Wales

So they either married elsewhere........or not atall

There are four births for Watts/Kenny in Middlesbrough district..........the earliest being 1921, and the latest 1938

my uncle told me i know hartlepool is where my nana was born in 1924 and where their lived. i have been looking for marriage cert but not had much look finding it yet
