patchem Report 6 May 2011 19:55

OK,
He is a horsekeeper groom on 1901 census, at St Thomas Place.
Sorry, added to my post above - what was his father's profession on the marriage certificate?
Also, did they all stay in this country?
Thanks

Doreen, is that your tree on Ancestry that has 15 children born to William and Rebecca?

I've searched the 1911 census and am struggling to find the earlier born children.

These are the only William/William born 1871/1873 in London

William Alfred Bishop 23 Apr 1871 William Jenkins Bishop,
Charlotte Bishop Kensington St James Norlands Kensington and Chelsea

William George Bishop 21 Nov 1873 William George Bishop,
Annie Bishop Hoxton St Saviour Hackney

Neither look that likely.

Don't forget the fathers changed their jobs every few months because there may not have been jobs going,so had to take any job.

There is the parents marriage.....You will notice that he is John William but could have been know as William.
