Thankyou for the further info Lady Marion.

Sorry about the comment in previous post. If you had put something about you being in OZ I would have understood your time was different to ours.

I am in Devon England.

Well I have taken a look at the census and have come to the conclusion Your Richard and Mary Ann did'nt want to be found. On the 1881 census Mary Ann says she was born in France Lyons !

Still there is always the old thing about the question "Where are you from?" and people said where they had just come from!

I don't think that George was Richard's brother but perhaps a cousin or something. George was born in Hampshire and could have been the name on their marriage cert.?? It does happen sometimes if the father is dead. But this dos'nt get us anywhere.
Also the names of Richard and Mary's children don't really reflect any family names as their son George 1891 could have been named after George Senior a long friend or relly.

I am just trying to find some connection with other family, thats all.

Lady Marion have you any of their childrens birth certs please?

6.11 am and reporting for duty..Richard was aged 19 years when he married in 1872 and he gives his address as Woodstock which is where the Prisks lived in Cornwall...I believe I may have made some head way with all of this and Richard could have been the son of George Davies and Mary Nancarrow or Mary White..Thomas Henry Davies aged 3 years for 1891 was my Grandfather...
Thankyou all so very very much for your help which is greatly appreciated...
I am going to follow my new leads and see where it takes me..

Once again very many thanks

Marion
