her mother comes up as anny rager born 1852 leicestershire

However, the second letter of the name is 'i'...NOT 'e'

You could cross-check with freebmd - or later census

Well it could be Lillian? and the surname looks more like Rogers

I can't find the entry on the 1891 census under either name on Findmypast.

I've found it now on Findmypast transcribed as Linian, but the image looks more like Lissieann to me (possibly Lissie Ann or Lizzie Ann).

According to a tree on Ancestry the name was Rogers there are two born in Nottingham Lila Woodruffe Rogers March quarter of 1886 and Lydia Hutchinson Rogers in December quarter of 1887. There is no record for the name Rager

I doubt very much that Thomas's age in 1881 is accurate...........
