Find Ancestors

can anyone tell me how i could find out what happened to my Grandmother Grace born 1905 my grandfather and Grace divorced between 1948 and 1954 whilst my father was in the army, when he came out he never heard from her and has no idea what happened to her. Would it be best to check elector rolls?

Anne-Marie They lived in West Ham whilst they were married after 1954 my grandad remarried and my dad never knew where she went, don't know if she remarried or reverted back to her maiden name i have serched death records of Grace Allen with the birth date 29th Jan 1905 and found only 1 but it wasnt her, would love to tell my dad what happened to her x

You would need an address to search electoral rolls. Do you have her exact birth date? if she died after 1969, the birth date will be shown on the online registration entry - provided the informant know it obviously.

I can't see the record you mean. This one has right birth date (I assume 29th Jan is correct?) but birth year a bit far out perhaps, even allowing for error.

Jan Thats the certificate i sent for just in case there was an error in the year, but it wasn't her, you found that quick i'm sure you've noticed i'm still a novice at this but am slowly learning. I found plenty of my other relatives on my mothers side but my dad hasn't any siblings so am trying to see what i can find out x

Have you gone on a different route completely and looked for her on other people's trees, either on here or on Ancestry? Just on the off-chance she married again.
There are very few deaths for a Grace (no middle name) with corresponding birth date,but of course she might have died anywhere at any time, and as I say if before 1970 there will be no birth date shown.
