I have recently recieved a birth certificate for one of my relatives, but one of the entries is puzzling me, its under the column 'signature and discription and residence of informant', it says " Lucy May Hall Mother Priory Mount Hospital Haverfordwest as per Declaration dated 8th March 1944"
The date of the cert is the 9th March 1944 and the birth date is 20 Jan 1944.
The mother of the baby was named Lucy May Hall and also her mother was Lucy May Hall.
Can anybody shed some light on what this Declaration might be and if there is any chance of getting a copy

Was it 6 weeks to register a birth and this might be just outside that time

That is the dates that is on the birth cert, the registration date is the day after the date of the Declaration so whether they had to wait for this I dont know?
