Member Since: July 2006 Posts: 7 Send Message	My G Grandfather Edward Matthews b 11 May 1825, Bosham, Sussex was married to Avis Sims Oct-Dec 1845 in Westbourne, Sussex. He was also married to Charlotte Irish in 1872. I cannot find a death record for Avis Sims - can anyone help me? Did he divorce Avis?

	Not that one.........She was alive in 1861............ 1861 England Census about Edward Matthews Name: Edward Matthews Age: 39 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1822 Relation: Head Spouse's Name: Avis Matthews Gender: Male Where born: Bosham, Sussex, England Civil parish: Chidham County/Island: Sussex Country: England Household Members: Name Age Edward Matthews 39 Avis Matthews 33 Richard Matthews 12 Esther Matthews 10 Fanny Matthews 9 Thomas Matthews 6 John Matthews 3 Charles Matthews 8 MO Harry Hawkins 19 Edward cliams to be a Widower in the 1871 census. Their last child was born 1860/1861......so if she did die (I can't find a death entry) it would be between 1861...1871.

	On the 1881 census Matthew has stepchildren with surname Hockin (Hawkins?) so Charlotte was evidently previously married.

	Ah, on the 1871 census Charlotte is married to Samuel Hockin and there is a Alice Irish listed as wife's daughter.
