Hi, I'm researching Alfred Edward Harrison b.Birmingham 1875, wife Eliza. I don't have access to any censuses, could anyone look up and find this family for me as far back as possible. I do know in 1911 they lived in Bedwelty Wales.
Thanks for your help

1881 census is FREE to ALL

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp

And on Ancestry

Have you looked on freebmd for a birth registration? The cert would give full parental info, to ensure that you follow the correct line.........

Better still, buy the marriage cert.............if he knew his father's details, they will be recorded.

I think you might need a marriage cert. There are several possibles on census reports so impossible to find him without a bit more info. There seem to be 2 born Aston 1875!

Flick, Thanks for that. Farnborough sounds as if he could have been in the RAF

The RAF didn't exist in 1901. Royal Flying Corps formed 1914?

Let us know what the marriage cert tells you. Remember they married in West Bromwich so unlikely they met in Farnborough, even if that is your Alfred (I wonder what Eliza was doing there!).

Christine, apart from the location of Farnborough there is no evidence that this is your relative in 1901, though he might be. There are several other possibilities including a couple of Alfred E. Harrisons in Birmingham on census reports. I can't see one where the occupation resembles that in 1911. . You need to hold off till you get his marriage cert.
