I have no idea what a GR posting is. It is difficult searching for all this information and processing it so I will have a rest for a bit.
Now that I understand that it is real people who are volunteers that have helped. I was shocked when all the information appeared within the lunchtime. It was almost like it was computer generated. The replies were so efficient that it was almost seemed like a computer's reply. Like when I look up census records. I do not know the process that people would have gone through to find the information. Probably looking through databases so thanks for all the time you had to spend looking through databases.

well we are all fellow GR members who help out on the boards, but whoever helps, surely thank you should come naturally to whoever- we obviously all enjoy doing it and are happy to do it
Perhaps had you read the permanent GR posting at the head of this board you would have understood better

I do not understand the background of the people working on this message board. If people are taking time out of their own research to help find information then I am very grateful.
I can probably search through parish registers myself now that I have this information. I do not want to take up too much of anyone's time as I am new to this research and message boards.

I am saving the grandson's mother as Catherine. The other 2 daughters are married after 1851. Catherine was not living with the family in 1841 so not sure what to make of her story.

The family listed on the 1851 census is my family. Widow Catherine, daughters, Mary, Catherine and Frances. Grandsons William, George and John. All from Hammersmith. I am busy putting all this extra information onto my family tree and then I will have break.
The widow Catherine was Catherine Brown until she married William Coker so I am saving all this information on my family tree. Also adding marriages, births and deaths.
Still not sure who the grandsons' parents are. I guessed Mary as she is the oldest and appears on more family trees. John is not their father as he married Emily, I was given this information by Colin Dore who let me look at his family tree. Frances married John Redknap and is too young to be their mother.
I could trace William Coker, husband of Catherine Brown in the future and see if I can get further back in the family history. I will let Colin Dore know about his ancestor Catherine as he does not know her maiden name or her husband's first name.
