There are a lot of them. Have they been reported as Abuse?

Either it's a GR blip or somebody is taking the *&$$. Oops, I'll get it reported for abuse again!

Why can't the person(s) who are indiscriminately reporting posts not just try adding a message to the thread pointing out the possible problem to the poster first? (Or do they not have the gumption to reveal themselves?)

Would be much more constructive and helpful all round.

I do agree that if there is overtly sensitive information then that needs to be remedied, but this latest round of reporting is over the top.

Maybe I'm too honest for my own good but if I reported a post for review then I would happily own up to the fact that I had done it and post something on the board telling why.

I'm concerned that some new members are having their posts RR and they aren't getting told why or what they have done wrong. They probably think that the members of GR are a bunch of horrible people which couldn't be further from the truth.

I reported one recently that was a duplicate...There was no point in telling this particular person as they get abusive when it is pointed out.

I would think it would be off putting to any newbie if this is happening to them without an explaination.

I have no idea what this post contained so I cannot comment either

Posts are being RRd in the general chat, some have been reinstated. It could be a glitch, but innocent chats about tv programmes are being targetted.

Don't know what is going on!!!!

Flick

Flick Report 17 Jun 2011 09:02

Whilst it would be an excellent idea for people to point out to posters that their messages may be RR'd....................the fact that so many posters don't return to their threads would mean that such messages would not be seen.

This thread is a perfect example - no sign of Florence since she posted the original............whatever it was!

Sylann...........

When you added to your original thread, did you actually amend the title to say 'update'...or 'further info sought'?

If not, and there had been a lot of replies, it may have been assumed that your query had been dealt with.

TootyFruity Report 17 Jun 2011 09:15

Sylann it is far better to add to your original thread so that Helpers can see what has already been found and not duplicate this information whilst trying to put the new request into context

Netter to do as Flick suggests and amend the title to reflect more information is required

Oops - sorry Dea, I have just PM'd it to her, in case she is new and doesn't know how to get back to her thread.

Flo most likely didnt come back because it had been RRd

I guess it can be quite off putting

Dea

Dea Report 17 Jun 2011 09:32

That's O.K. Christine, - at least she has the info now !

She did say in her opening post, which we are at last priveledged to be able to read, that she was having problems accessing her threads etc.
so maybe that was it?

Why on earth that post should have been reported, I really cannot imagine.
