Can anyone find me a suitable marriage for James and Ellen Laura (Peggy)?

thanks for trying, yes I have that info, was just frustrating to have her name and not find a marriage for them, perhaps they didn't ever marry .

I'm wondering if she was older than him as there is a birth in Norwich for a Ellen Laura Scott in 1898

Could be - which is perhaps why there are no children as she was older.

You would need the marriage certificate to see if it names her father then you could check this on the 1901 census.

Thanks all , I think that is a very likely reason, not one of the certs I most need at the moment though.

I did find a marriage for Ellen L Gainsbury to Douglas W Dadson S W Surrey 1956 so possibly she remarried and a death of Ellen Laura Dadson in same reg district in 1987 (DOB given 11/09/1897)

could have been a year out on giving the birth date when registering the death , reasonable ?
