The 1881 census is searchable by address and I believe the 1901 is on FMP. |

hi glitter i pay for ancestry and tried to be clever on the cencus and type the address but as i have no idea of names it came up with over 30 thous names for battle and would take forever to go through plus on alot of the old cencus it does not give full address as in house number it normally only gives road names |

To search the 1891 on Ancestry, select 1891 England census; on the right of the screen is a search box where you can select the county, then the Civil Parish (in this case Battle). This brings up a list of Enumeration Districts. Click on the Enumeration Description brings up a handwritten description of which streets, etc are in that District. |
