Find Ancestors

Please can someone help me. I am looking for information on Isabella Kirby born 1904 in Co Durham. Married Arthur Saich in 1943 in essex. She died 1952. I cant find her birth anywhere and was wondering if perhaps she had been married before. Am new to this and dont really know where to start. Can anyone tell me anything please?

If you can not find her birth then how do you know where she was born?

Do I presume you do not have the marriage cert as that would say if married before and the name of her father if known

no dont have marriage certificate. I know where and when she was born as i was born in 1946 and remember her well and after she died her husband told me where she is from and when she was born. Unfortunately he is not around anymore to ask.

If she was born 1904 then their is a good chance she had a previous marriage? if that is the case then following the Kirby trail could be a big mistake

Findings as in what in the info i gave at the begining, MIKE. I only said i couldnt find her BIRTH. Didnt know if she had been married before and Kirby was a previous husbands name as couldnt find her birth. Thank you PATCHEM, ur i think your census find is correct as i know she had an older sister Dorothy.

Carol, if Kirby was a previous husbands name then the birth info for Isabella Kirby above is wrong and not your Isabella.

and there will be plenty of Isabellas with a sister Dorothy.

In order to be sure that Kirby was her maiden name, you should start with the marriage certificate showing her father's name and occupation, and work backwards.

thanks everyone for your help. the village was very small annd think it would be very strange to have 2 sets of families with children of same names and ages.so i am sure patchem got it right.
