Hi,
I'm looking for any information on Stephen Labron born c 1806, his wife Ann or their families. They lived in Leeds, but I don't believe this was Stephen's birth county (my notes seem to contain evidence from the 1841 census, but I cannot their entry). They had children called William, John, Elizabeth and Stephen.
I have found a possible marriage for Stephen Labron/Laburn in 1823 to Sophia Cranswick. Please let me know if you have any idea how this all fits together.

The children are scattered in 1851. Young Stephen is in the workhouse and this looks like William and Elizabeth with the Thomas Cranswick from the 1841. They are noted as Brother and Sister so i am assuming that Ann had been married before and Thomas was her son

There is a Sophia baptised in 1818. It doesn't say when she was born unfortunately.

Thomas was a widower, his occupation was a clothie,r and Ann was a widow. Both of full age. Thomas's father was a 'Stubber or Slubber' and Ann's father was a bricklayer. Thomas signed his name but Ann and the two witnesses just put their mark, 'X' Witness's were William Gill and Elizabeth Howgates. At the time of the marriage they both put their address as Holbeck. Elizabeth Howsgate was Elizabeth Cranswick.....see below

I think this is Ann's parents in 1841. Her father was Thomas, a bricklayer as per marriage. This census for Holbeck fits in. I can't read the name of the person living with him but probably his son. Also I think Sophia 1818 (re Astra) was his daughter, Ann's sister.

Hi, Thanks for all this info, it's been really useful, and tied up a few loose ends.
I still don't understand why the marriage to Stephen Labron is Sophia Cranswick, when his wife is Ann. I can't find anything about Ann's birth/christening.
And anything on Stephen Snr's birth would be great.

I think the name spelt 'Lamerdel' on the aboe 1841 census COULD be Samuel

In 1841 they were in Lane End, Holbeck and Jonas was a Blacksmith in 1851 they had moved to Brighton Sussex and Elizabeths mother, Jane aged 77 and a widow, was a visitor. Elizabeth birth in the 1861 was given as cerca 1799 and born in Packlington Yorkshire. Jonas b c1801in Leeds.

I can't find out any more on Stephen senior or Ann but I will keep looking
