I am trying to find out further information regarding above who are my GGGG Grandparents who had a son Marmaduke born 1796 in Panns Bishopwearmouth now part of Sunderland. Marmaduke junior seemed to spend most of his life in Lancashire and died in Summerseat near Bury in 1866. He was buried in the Rowlands cemetery there. It may well be that Marmaduke and Eleanor were only visiting the north east when their son was born Any help appreciated please.

one thing that could be interesting ...... might John Dolphin be a brother of Marmaduke ?
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html
Name: Marmaduke Dolphin Gender: Male Baptism/Christening Date: 1820 Baptism/Christening Place: NEWCHURCH-IN-PENDLE, LANCASHIRE, ENGLAND Father's Name: John Dolphin Mother's Name: Mary Indexing Project (Batch) Number: C39742-6 System Origin: England-VR Source Film Number: 1278872 Reference Number: - 2:2TS4VQT Collection: England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
it would look like John named his son for his father and note that this was in Lancashire as well
could this also be a sibling of Marmaduke Jr
Name: Nelly Dolfin Gender: Female Baptism/Christening Date: 31 May 1789 Baptism/Christening Place: GRINTON,YORK,ENGLAND Father's Name: Marmaduke Dolfin Mother's Name: Indexing Project (Batch) Number: P00742-1 System Origin: England-ODM Source Film Number: 897351 Reference Number: Collection: England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
Nelly is a variation of Eleanor

Thanks for all the feed back and help. I have not traced any siblings for Marmaduke Jnr so I suppose it is possible that John could be his brother as there is a connection with St Marys at Newchurch in Pendle as that is where Maramaduke Jnr married Ellen Frankland in 1823. Whether Nelly Dolfin is a sibling I would not know. Its a case of trying to tie it in with the baptism of Marmaduke Jnr in the north east.
I am tying the north east in with lancashire through the birth place of Marmaduke jnr from the 1851 and 1861 census which states the birth place as Sunderland and Durham respectively. I think Saul is one of Marmaduke Jnr sons but my dates are different and the info you have quoted is from the stone at Rowlands cemetery in Summerseat which is the link you gave and also where Marmaduke Jnr is buried with gravestone. I must confess my tree is getting a little confused with all, the Lancashire/Yorkshire Dolphins.
Any further advice/help would be appreciated Thanks

did you find the headstone for Nancy Dolphin?
looking at the census records on that site for 1871 there seem to be a few Saul's Marmadukes's & Nancy's which makes it rather confusing sorting out who is who

Yes I had seen that already thanks. Just realised not replied to your other comments on Saul Marmaduke. I agree it is confusing and I am just reviewing further as I think it is possible that Saul is not a son of Marmaduke Jnr above
