Hello Jayne, because there are quite a few William Tunmores in the area is it possible that the details for two of them have got mixed up? |

Jayne, If you are in contact with family who say he died in 1928 you need to ask for written evidence eg, copy of the cert, if the 1928 date is just because a family member remembers then you will need to buy the death cert to prove/disprove the details. |

when i first started doing my tree i spent about 2 years looking for certs and census info on the basis of info from family members and getting no where, not that the info they gave was wrong but the details were often out by several years and also some names turned out to be nicknames eg a jimmy who turned out to be John and a henry who turned out to be harry |

if he was 71 when he died then that gives a dob of 1857 not 1873 |

Hello again Porkie Pie, |

Jayne, don't trust any information provided by anyone else! As Roy states, info often gets distorted and if the people you're in contact with can't provide proof then you need to buy your own certificates - if they have made a mistake then you would just be copying that mistake to your tree. |

If the records don't fit the family then you need to think long and hard about if the family is the correct one, to many family tree's around that are more fiction than fact |
