Gertrude Shimmen age 21 in 1916 of walton on the hill liverpool, father was james i think, hard to read on the marriage cert he was a shipwright?

But why does it say she was born Ipswich?

There are 2 census which say she was born in Ipswich, Suffolk which is where her mother came from so they must be right ??

She was obviously born before her mother married?

Hi Kidsnpets - is it possible to make out the names of the witnesses on the marriage certificate?

Also you say"father james possibly garner hard to read Shimmen" - does that mean it looks like he possibly had a longer middle name?

But no Gertrude!

There is a Robert Shimmin born Liverpool 1866 a shipwright married to Mary.
They have a daughter Ida may Shimmin born 1886/7 and son hedley @ 1900.

There also was a Gertrude May Howard born 4/5/1897 died Knowsley (Liverpool ) 1976!!!!!!!

His parents John and Catherine nee Errington.

On this tree is info from National Archives about Private Vincent Howard of 72,Devon St Liverpool and his capture in 1914 In Witterigen and his escape on 223/1916.
1911 a Vincent Howard born @ 1890 is in Cairo.
He married Gertrude Kelly daughter of James Kelly a sawyer and Rachel kelly.
They had a daughter who isn't named bit born before 1918.
