I've found some possible US census records for Jane Bartle as Jane Walters (Ada did say she was visiting her sister Mrs Walters).

** In the 1901 UK census Ada's sister Jane was a dressmaker.

On that 1947 flight arrival posted earlier, it states Ada was going to visit her sister Mrs Walters. Have you traced any of her sisters marrying a Walters and going to US? Or marrying after getting to US.

the reason i was looking for info on ada was because i am m in touch with another member of the bartle family from usa but she has only just started her tree and does not know much about the family over here.

Lisa, if you can tell us more about "your" Ada we'll see what we can find.

Although the home address on both records is Suffolk, the later record shows birthplace as Bradford, which could fit what you put originally.
