Do a look up at http://maps.google.com/ for Novar, Ontario, Canada
It's on the Parry Sound/Muskoka boundary - presumably Boundary Rd is the actual county line.

From http://data2.collectionscanada.gc.ca/1911/pdf/e002011666.pdf
the actually farm addy is Lot 17 Conc 6, but I don't have a concession map for Perry Twp.
Isaac is a Farmer, with pob=O (i.e., Ontario) - in spite of the census header, it's subdistrict 29, not 42.

NB There are concession maps for southern Ont, but they stop short of Muskoka. See
http://digital.library.mcgill.ca/countyatlas/SearchMapframes.php

There are free links to census 1871-1911 at:

You're very welcome Maddie.

So Emily Marks nee Patchett must be Minnie Halstead's sister?

(EDIT - yes, they're on the 1901 together, just wanted to get it straight in my head)

Wonder how Emily and Isaac met?

This is a bit odd - Emily arriving in Canada 1909, saying she's single but she got married there 2 years earlier!

Canadian Passenger Lists, 1865-1935
Name: Emily Patchett < Domestic
Gender: Female
Age: 32
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1877
Date of Arrival: 15 Oct 1909
Vessel: Corsican
Port of Arrival: Quebec
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England
Roll: T-4764

(There's a stamp over the bit where it asks ever in Canada before, so can't make it out.)

** I don't know anything about passports in those days, perhaps she just hadn't changed it to her married name?

I don't think William left Horace behind in Canada - he'd obviously been over earlier then returned to England. He then took the whole family back over in 1922 (children travelling ahead with aunt & uncle).

Will look for the Marks .......

BUT - I'm not sure that William was telling the total truth when he said he'd been in Canada 1909 - 1912. He was at home in England on 1911 census. Looks like he was back and forth quite a bit:

Just to add to the info already found:

Doris Amelia Halstead arriving 20/10/1922 - she was accompanying her aunt & uncle who were returning. They were Mr & Mrs Isaac Marks of Geohia (??) Junction, Ontario. She had £5 in cash, and had paid her own passage. She gives her nearest relatives in the UK as parents Mr & Mrs Halstead at 20 Collingwood St, Colne. She was born in Nelson and her religion was Church of England. She had never been to Canada before. Her current occupation was a weaver and she now intended to work on uncle's farm.

ADDED
Minnie Halstead arriving 10/03/1922 travelling with husband William. Her present and intended occupation was House Duties. She had £10 cash. Travelling to stay with son & daughter at 13 May St, Barrowford. Nearest UK relative was her mother Mrs Patchett at 82 Romney Street, Nelson (NB - the arrival date is wrong as the sailing date was 08/12/1922)

William gives his current occupation as Loomer and intends to be a mechanic. He states he was previously in Canada from 1909 (arrived Quebec?), lived in Seohia Junction and left 1912 to rejoin his wife & family. He had £30. On this arrival he was going to his son and intended to remain in Canada permanently.
