Hello Mark and welcome to the community boards.

It's been a few months since Emily started this thread and she may not be looking for any more replies.

Try clicking on her name and sending your message that way. If she still has the same email address she will be notified.

Meanwhile, why not start a thread of your own? Take a look at the Help clinic - above left - for further advise.

You could also try putting the names you are researchinging into the Search Trees box above to see if anyone else on this site has them in their tree. If you find a connection, you can contact the tree owner. Cx.

Henry Browse born 1823 was Phineas's son.
I too am stuck trying to find a record of Phineas's death. I would have thought it unlikely that he emigrated, since Henry and his direct descendants (which include me) continued to live in England.

I have found 2 baptism records for Ann Browse (Phineas's daughter) - one in March 1816 (Higher Independent Chapel, Buckfastleigh), one in May 1817 (Charles, Plymouth). An infant death, or did she get baptised twice, once nonconformist and once C of E??

I'd have thought so.

I believe Caroline had sibling Henry and Ann so this could be the Henry.

Although from what I've found Phineas was a comman American name in that era should I start looking furthur afield do you you think?

Emily

Emily Report 12 Dec 2011 21:47

I think so but I'm having problems locating his family and from my knowledge is would be highly unusual to take his family overseas with him. Wouldn't it?

**Ann** Report 12 Dec 2011 21:44

Ozbird has posted above what I found on Family Search, there does not seem to be much info regarding him and nothing coming up on any census...........was he away at sea do you think...........hence not showing up.

Emily

Emily Report 12 Dec 2011 21:41

Ozbird That is great thank you.
The name changes as often does due to the lack of spelling so I would say that is him again. Thank you

Emily

Emily Report 12 Dec 2011 21:36

I know nothing else about him I have lost the majority of the info I had all I have left I posted.
The problem with moving I'm just pleased this appears to be the only thing I've lost.
