Hi all

I am trying to confirm the birth place of Ivy Florence Glenn, born circa 1904

Her mother was agnes Glenn nee Pinnegar
Father was Henry (Harry Glenn)
I have been given to understand that Ivy was born Warks,
but I have seen a birth for Ivy F in Hanwell, London in 1905, to Harry and Amelia Glen

I would be grateful any help however small

Thanks

Tom

Hi Mike
Thanks for your reply

The 1905 birth is the one I mentioned re Hanwell ( Brentford)
but the family are sure that the birth was in warwickshire

Thanks

Tom

Never trust what people say over what you can prove.

Buy the certificate to confirm it's her.

I presume Warks means Warwickshire ( please write so everone can understand)

Why would she not be born local to parents marriage ?

Births Mar 1904
Glenn Florence - Aston 6d 342

So which one are you looking for ?

Tom

Tom Report 19 Feb 2012 18:34

Hi Mike
Thanks for for what you have given me, I have been given assurance that
Ivy's mother was Agnes Pinnegar, as this is what I have just received
: " Let me see if I can get everything in order. Agnes Pinnegar married Henry or Harry Glenn who were my Mothers parents"

Hi Vera

Thank you for the information you have gien me, the problem is that the mother is named Amelia and has lead to the confusion

Kind regards to you both

Tom

Tom, do you know when Ivy died? Also what was her married name?

EDIT

We could then try to find her death which might have a birth date so that we could then tie this in with the birth date given on the baptismal record that I've given above

Mike *

Mike * Report 19 Feb 2012 18:39

If you were looking for Ivy F. I don't understand why you settled on a different Florence.

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 19 Feb 2012 18:39

Might the confusion be because Agnes Pinnegar was born Warks?

1891:
PINEGAR, Johiah Head Married M 67 1824 Railway Labourer Stonehouse Gloucestershire
PINEGAR, Ann Wife Married F 47 1844 Kinlet Shropshire
PINEGAR, Nathinel Son Single M 21 1870 Agricultural Labourer Hanley Breconshire
PINEGAR, Thomas Son Single M 18 1873 Agricultural Labourer Barrow in Furness Lancashire
PINEGAR, Agnes Daughter Single F 14 1877 Warwick Warwickshire <<
PINEGAR, Ellen Daughter Single F 12 1879 Scholar Warwick Warwickshire
PINEGAR, Frederick Son Single M 7 1884 Scholar Selly Oak Warwickshire
PINEGAR, Fanny Daughter Single F 4 1887 Scholar Edenbridge Kent
PITTS, John Lodger Single M 36 1855 Railway Labourer Sherborne Gloucestershire
HEARN, Ruben Lodger Single M 18 1873 Railway Labourer Chorley Wood Berkshire

Registration District: Aylesbury
Civil Parish: Aylesbury

Address: 10, California, Aylesbury County: Buckinghamshire

So, perhaps it's Ivy's MOTHER that was born there, not her. Father Josiah would be Joseph on her marriage record and the witness Ellen would be her sister shown here.

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 19 Feb 2012 19:17

Mike - considering the rate her family moved around it's not surprising they were confused!

Can anyone find them in 1911?

By the way, I should add that there's a very well documented tree on anc*ry with photos of them all.

To Mike and Marie Celeste

Would you both accept my apologies for not replying sooner as I have had visitors and so I was unable to reply to you

Firstly, I asked these questions on behalf of an old friend who is now living abroad, I also knew Ivy when were neighbours, then she was married to
George Hughes, as her first husband had passed away in 1931

I would like to thank you both very much for your time and effort on my behalf
I will look at all the information you have both offered and pass it on to my old friend

Kind regards

Tom
