Hi im looking for a JACKIE RICKUS born in the 1960s.Her mothers name was AMY LAGOE and her father's name was DAVID RICKUS.I think she was adopted i hope someone can help.Thank's

Are you related Pamela? If so you can put your details on the national adoption register in case she goes looking for her birth family.
Have you tried checking for matches on here - use 'search trees' above.

I think you are her cousin maybe? Are there no family members who know exactly what happened? And you must remove her parents' names.

yes i am her couson, and no there are no family members still alive,i thought that as both parents are no longer here i could put on there names sorry if i was wrong, but thank you for your coments.

OK Pamela, I guess in that case it's fine. We do tend to advise people to be careful, as often they personal info about living people on here not realising it's not a secure site.

Anyway, have you tried contacting the person with Jackie in his tree?

What happened to Amy? Not seeing a remarriage or death for her. Could Jackie have stayed with her?

hello rose, i know jackie didnt stay with my aunty amy, as when i was a young child about 8 i remember going with my dad and my uncle tom with the baby in the pram to the carnige in hunton hill and going back to my nans with out her, my aunty amy used to say she was unable to keep the baby,it was only when i started to do our family tree, i found out the name, my aunty amy passed away about 7 yrs ago, she was divorced from david in the early 60s and went back to her maden name lagoe,
david as also passed away,

Amy had 5 siblings - are you saying you know they have all died?
But in any case, if Jackie was adopted, the adoption register is the way to go.

This is very frustrating isn't it - I was really hoping George might know something! He has both Jackie and Amy in his tree.
Has he opened your message? Look at 'sent messages' to check. (You can tell by the colour of the little envelope).

thank you jan, my mom was the first one to die age just 60,in 1990 my nan was still alive at the time and died 6 years later on my moms birthday, my 3 uncles , tom, ted, and bill and our aunty amy have all passed away, sorry our aunty irene is still alive but dont know why or what happened to jackie,do you know how i would find out about the adoption regiser, pam x

Well, if it were me, I would try the following - I think it exhausts everything, and gets more obscure as it goes on!:

1. Adoption register - google it or go here, there are details of register plus help/contact details:

2. See if NORCAP can advise you, this is a charity for all aspects of adoption:

3. See if there is any way your contact info can be put on her adoption file - contact social services Birmingham for advice. I am not sure, but it may be possible to check if she was actually adopted at all.

4. Contact the 2 George Dickens who show up on 192.com in the West Midlands!!

Just one more thing - it's a bit sensitive, but have you tried tracing David's family? It's not impossible that they know something after all. Looks like he may have re-married in the 70's, and if so there are possibly 4 children to this relationship.

And!! Maybe a bit less dodgy, he had quite a few siblings, a better route to follow as they will probably know what happened to Jackie, but his 2nd family might not, and you don't want to upset them obviously.

What's the "carnige in hunt on hill"? Is that where Amy put the baby up for adoption?

rose the carnige was and i think still is a welfare centre, in hockley, i think it must of been where the baby was taken for adoption because i did nt see the baby again , pam x
