That is what I am trying to do, Morris Jones was witness at ggrandparent's wedding.
I have a photos of him in Morris, Minnesota. Hoping to get confirmation of Minnesota's Morris's parent's names in the hope that by following them I might get some idea of my ggrandfather's parentage.
Minnesota's Morris was married twice, From photos I would say that Janet was his first wife.

I have the posible Wales census for Morris born Penmorfa 1861 but I am not sure that he is the same one as the Minnesota Morris. I need Morris in Minnesota's parents to confirm that I am following the correct Jones, before more certificates go in the "Not ours" pile

How do you know where in Wales he was born?

An educated guess,grandfather was born Penmorfa and his family was known as pobol Penmorfa, (Penmorfa's people) .
Maybe I should rethink that theory.
Morris in Minnesota is the key to finding the family.

Just throwing this into the mix. Says they had 1 child who had died.
Both emigrated 1883.

My reasoning is based on the fact that on the 1895 census Morris and wife have a 16yr old Bert Jones living with them who was born in North Dakota.
