Thank you Kath, you must have read my mind. I was just about to ask for the 1841 to reveal the boys' mother! I had just checked that Richard had been born by the time of the census :-
Births Dec 1840 Sarson Richard Adcock Barrow on Soar 15 42
and I was just about to say that a pound to a penny the mother's maiden name would be Adcock!!!

Thank you Chris. This seems to suggest that Jane was not the mother of the three Sarson boys? Perhaps the two Marriot children should be specified as 'step'?

Remember that "son-in-law" and "daughter-in-law" in the 1851 census actually means step-son and step-daughter (children from Jane's first marriage).
Since William and Jane only married in 1850 I would imagine that all the Sarson children on the 1851 census are from William's first marriage.

1851 census for Queniborough Derbyshire please
With all the info Kath posted I have focused on the Sarson family and whilst Matthew seems to only have two brothers the search for parents show Queniborough as a rabbit warren for Sarsons!
Sarson Richard 1841 Queniborough Chesterfield, Chesterfield Sarson Matthew 1845 Queniborough Chesterfield, Chesterfield Sarson Thomas 1847 Queniborough Chesterfield, Chesterfield
Can anybody see the whole family please?
Many thanks, Frances

Thank you Maddie, Kathleen and Reggie, the info you have posted is most rewarding. To answer your question Reggie, the family search is at the request of a neighbour who knows I am an addict for this sleuthing lark.
The information I was given to start with was the names which led me to this marriage :-
Marriages Sep 1933 Bartrop Rupert A Harrison Whitby 9d 1157
Harrison Rena Bartrop Whitby 9d 1157
All the rest is just using the various websites and sleuthing......

It gives her place of birth as New Whittington, Derbyshire which would be the Chesterfield Registration District.
