No problem Brian, it is getting late and near by bedtime too.

Just looked at her death notice which says she died 25 July 1907 aged 81 years, 11 months and 20 days.

That would make her dob 05 August 1825 ? Although the tree on Ancestry gives it as 05 August 1826.

The other thing that you need to remember is that pre 1855, you are looking at christening records and not all children were christened. I think too that the OPRs are Church of Scotland records and if her parents weren't CoS then she may have been christened in another church.

Still no death for L Hood Arbroath under any set of varients

What were the names (and father's occupation) given on Mary Hay Hood maiden name Mitchell's death certificate.

Just wondering if it is possible to tie in family names for David and Isabella's children?

My gut feeling is that the Perthshire Isabella is more likely than either the Berwickshire or Edinburgh one.

Hi checked back from the Berwick birth for Isabella Hood and her parents Jane Ann Low and John Hood looking at poss birth of Jane ann Low there is the mention of Hunt, hope I have not got mixed up either John Hood or Jane Ann Low.

Sorry, I have no credits for SP at the minute but using the free search facility there is one death for Hood just using the initial "L" in Arbroath, Angus in 1883, year of birth 1805 +/- 5years.

There is a Lawrance Hood buried on 31 December 1883 at St. Vigeans Churchyard Angus. (also a Laurence Hood in the same Churchyard on 18 June 1920, possibly his son?)

Note the spelling of Lawrance when checking Scotlandspeople for deaths.

Still getting nothing on Scotlands People using name variants,Angus,All regions, all nothing until 1920 and that is Lawrence Hood and Mary Mitchells son

Lawrence died after 1881 and his birth year here is 1800.
