Hi I am trying to trace George Thomas (born 1853) back further. This is the census form 1891 . |

just adding this . the wedding was two years after the birth of William ,and there was also an older child Alfred John Thomas . born in 1879 , George was a step-father to these two. |

Could be. The wedding was in October 1883 and it says that George's father was deceased . I will try to check a deaths record between the census and the wedding . |

There is a possible death for the George Thomas (Head of household) in Gritty's 1871 census, so a good possibility. |

The wedding was in Bridgend register office . It just give the address as Oldcastle Bridgend for both bride and groom . Witnesses were Henry Lewis and Annie Thomas , ,who I know was the brides sister |

Yes Margaret was Alfred John's mother they lived in Oldcastle but Alfred John was brought up by his grandmother . He was George's stepson . (before Margaret married George ) |

His birth certificate says 4th February . has baptism says 22nd May . I don't know when he celebrated . |

If you look for Margaret's parents .there is another problem if I have the correct censuses . in 1881 her father is 80 her mother is 50 |
