yes, I did trace this John. He was born an "Adams" - Emma had him before she married John. After that he took the name "Coleman" then reverted to Adams after he left home and married

Chris, that is the birth of my Grandmother Louisa in 1873; I hadn't seen the report in the Bucks Herald so thanks for that link.

Catherine, that marriage of Mary Ann in 1914 is not mine as her father didn't die till about 1920. He was not a carman but agricultural worker

Thank you GreyGhost for posting the link to the previous thread. it does help to know that Emily was already found in 1891 as a servant... will edit my post.

Hello Chris Ho :) My grandmother Louisa was married in London in 1892 but you are right there were no Colemans around as witnesses. Nellie Holmes was Henry's sister but I have no idea who Richard Hobbs is - wonder if he is one of the "girls" husbands and either Emily or Mary Ann became a Hobbs; I didn't think of that.

Thanks for all the various suggestions to my post two+ years ago. I have since found one of the two missing ladies. I found that Mary Ann married a Thomas Ashby in 1893. Mary died in 1905 so I am still looking for a sighting of Emily Coleman after the 1891 census when she was a nursemaid in Acton. I cannot find the marriage or death of Emily Coleman born in Great Kimble, Buckinghamshire in 1865 to Emma and John Coleman neither find her on the 1901 or 1911 census. I know that she was definitely alive as parents, John and Emma are stating so on the 1911 census. (Three children alive which I can account for: John jnr now known as Adams, Louisa Coleman and Emily Coleman). Her birthday was March 25th 1865. Many thanks in advance for any more thoughts.
