I am hoping you can help me with the brick wall I have hit regarding my GG Grandfather Lewis Jones. I have his marriage certificate. Married Eleanor Humphreys 19/10/1877. Register office Machynlleth, Montgomery. Witness Edward Humphreys who I think is Eleanors brother, and the mark of David Evans. A David Evans is also down as the Deputy Superintendent Registrar?? Lewis was 39, she was 24. He was widowed, she is spinster. he is Lead miner, she has no occ. His Father John Jones. Decd. Hatter. Her Father Richard Humphreys.Miner.I have them both on all the census's for 1881.1891.1901.1911. and have all their children. Its his first wife that I can't find a marriage for. I have no idea who she was. I have looked on Ancestry, and on the Geneologist. Any help you can give me would really be appreciated.

Are there any children on 1881 census who aren't Eleanor's?

Deborah

Deborah Report 9 Jan 2019 20:58

Lewis was born Llangynfelio. Cardiganshire, Wales.

From the cencus's it would appear from the DOB's that all the children were belonging to Lewis and Eleanor.
