IGNORE trees on Ancestry. Most of them are copied from other - equally incorrect - trees

Do your own research, or at least trust only that which is backed up by documentary evidence

The birth date for John in 1939 matches the registration of birth which I posted

John's occupation in 1911 and in 1939 matches that in 1901 when he is at home with his parents.- but I'm sure you've already seen that!

Name: John Hornby
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 9 Apr 1882
Baptism Place: St. Andrew, Manchester, Lancashire, England

The info about Rosina's birthplace etc is not vital - it's her husband who is connected to you

Thank I did see that last census with the 2 boys born 1870/71 big gap to next one? and Thomas Thorn ,Elizabeth has got a brother Thomas ?

Still not sure about the 1911 census not heard of Studham but it has Bedfordshire so why put British subject??

Sylann

Sylann Report 2 Jun 2020 12:42

That answers that I looked for Stone?

Thank you

I don't think "British subject by parentage" means anything official in this case.

William Stone filled in the form, and probably thought he was supposed to put something in that column, but didn't read the heading properly.

Re Studham - just Google it:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studham

Strangely, William Stone, in spite of being born there (?), didn't know how to spell it in 1911.
[But 1901 says he was born in Alderbury, Herefordshire.]

Thank you It's the first time I've seen it without the people being born abroad

So that answers both queries

I think I've got all I need now to enter everything into my tree

Thank you
