Okie Doke and thanks for looking for me

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 15 Jul 2020 14:06

As I said, the link isn't infallible

Where was 'your' John baptised?

And, if you're basing his birth year only on 1841 census, don't forget the 'rounding-down' for over-15's

cane Report 15 Jul 2020 13:59

I know you only want the 1939 record, but it may help to know that your Elizabeth was actually born in 1881:

Her brother's birth:

BARBER, JAMES HENRY mms JONES

Where was her death registered?

Are you 100% sure the death is the woman you’re looking for?

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 13 Jul 2020 21:50

In fact, that's not the right 1939 record for your Elizabeth.

If you have the correct death for your Elizabeth, she never married.

That Elizabeth with Mary Hoole is Mary's mother.

ArgyllGran Report 13 Jul 2020 21:40

Mary Hoole in the 1939 posted by Erika was formerly Barber.
Does that help you to decide if it's the correct 1939 record?:

Marriages Sep 1926 (>99%)
BARBER Mary Hoole Barton I. 8c 1201
Hoole Arthur Barber Barton I. 8c 1201

Mary Barber
in the Manchester, England, Church of England Marriages and Banns, 1754-1930
Name: Mary Barber
Gender: Female
Marriage Age: 23
Event Type: Marriage
Birth Year: abt 1903
Marriage Date: 15 Sep 1926
Marriage Place: Stretford, St Matthew, Lancashire, England
Parish as it Appears: Stretford
Father: Reginald Barber <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Spouse: Arthur Hoole
Reference Number: L89/1/4/6
Archive Roll: 611

Her husband's death:

Deaths Sep 1933 (>99%)
Hoole Arthur 32 Manchester S. 8d 171

There's a closed record after Mary's name in 1939.

There were two Hoole/Barber children born, 1930 and 1934, in Barton upon Irwell.
The 1930 child may have died in Salford in 1933.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 13 Jul 2020 21:31

Just because she was in Didsbury in 1901 and 1911, it doesn't mean she still had to there 28 years later in 1939.

I don't see any Elizabeth Barber in Didsbury in 1939.
