As said, that matches the DOB given for the Alice in Lever Street in 1939.

Re the Syrett/Osborne children - look them up on FreeBMD - no need to put in dates.
They are the only children with that combination of parents' surnames.

The woman's maiden name should be on the death cert - assuming the informant knew it, of course

Just a quick update to say that I have managed to contact one of the Syrett/Osborne children and they are looking into the Arthur Charles Ballard Syrett and the mysterious Alice connections.

Just a quick update. The Alice living with Arthur Charles Ballard Syrett whom she had a son with called Charles Arthur in 1913 gives her maiden name as Ballard on her sons birth certificate but on her death certificate in 1983 her maiden name is Boobier. A bit odd.

The truth must have come out at some stage.....................who was the informant o the death cert?

Many thanks for the census information on the Boobier family it fills in a few gaps. The address on the birth certificate for Charles Arthur Syrett in 1913 is 24 Sekforde Street. As you can see that their surname is now Syrett not Ballard which was on the 1911 census.

Confirms that the couple calling themselves Ballard in 1911 were the parents and resolves your query about Alice No 2.

The informant on the death certificate for Alice was her son Charles Arthur Syrett.
