Find Ancestors

I need some help with George Goddard. All i have on him is his marriage certificate. I would like to know when he was born and who was in his family. He was a mason married to Ann Dainton on 02/10/1854 in the Parish of Lyncombe in Somerset. I see from the certificate that his father was also called George and at the time of the marriage he was a labourer. The certificate also says that both George Goddard and Ann Dainton were living in Caroline Buildings and were both 'full age' at the time of marriage (doesn't help me with a DOB!) Is there anyone out there that can help me please? Somerset is a bit of a long way for me to go and would really appreciate any help offered. Many thanks Carly Hodge

I can follow George and Ann all the way through to 1891 ....... and he is always an Agricultural Labourer. Have tried to find Ann Dainton on the 1851 .............. so far no luck

I have been following that George and he seems to start out in 1841 with Benjamin as a possible father, (no way of knowing if that is the father as it is not stated of course). Also a possible marriage to an Ann Parsons - so that could be them...... Gail..

I assumed with these searches that both or either George and Ann were born in Somerset. If I widen the search, there can be about 10 or 20! Do you have any more information at all???? Did they have any children? If so, names, birthdates/place would/might help!

Apologies I've been away for a week. Thank you all for your replies. I know that George Goddard and Ann Dainton (married 1854) had at least 2 children - Albert Goddard (think was born around 1856) and yet another George Goddard (think born around 1858). I know as much as i want to about the children. George Goddard and Ann Dainton (married 1854) are as far back as i can get and naturally i want to go further, for example get a DOB for George and any background info? On George and Ann's marriage certificate it states that George's father was also named George - far too many Georges in this family! and Ann's father is named Aaron. Hope this helps you more? it was on ancestry, and yes albert is with his grandma ann dainton on the 1871

I believe George and Ann's son Albert was living with his grandparents at some point so it would tally that he wouldn't appear on the census with the family.
