Find Ancestors

I'm wondering if someone could help me find out more about my nan Lucy Parker. I know that she died 1979 (Oct, Nov or Dec) not sure on the. She was born in Yorkshire 1922 think it was 16th Dec. I would be very grateful if anyone could help me find more information on her, it would be great to know her a little better. Regards Carly

There is the death of a Lucy PARKER on Ancestry with those details, registered in Poplar. Do you have the certificate or her marriage certificate in order to find her maiden name ( and father on the latter)? You could then find her birth registration, which will have her mother's maiden name logged too, then find her parents' marriage. Gwyn

I can't find a Lucy's birth on Ancestry with the surname you sent. I looked for December quarter and the following March. The nearest match was one with different spelling, in Swansea. Gwyn

Is she the mother of your mother or father? Whichever one it is - do you have their birth certificate or birthdate and their name. If you find their birth reference this will give you your nan's maiden name, which will help to find her birth. Kath. x

Yes thats correct she was registered in Poplar thats where she died.

This is it i don not have a certificate for either. My mum said she thinks that she heard the name Appleton something like that.

This is the mother of my father. Which my dad passed away 2years ago now. Thats why i'm so insteaded in looking at my dads family now he has passed away.

Sorry i gave the date wrong for when my grandad died he passed away in the October 1990.

You need to know Lucy's maiden name. To get that you will either have to tell us your father's name and date of birth so that we can look him up or get Lucy's marriage certificate.

Lucys Maiden name was davis.
My father name was Terence Parker 30.10.56

There are only two Terence Parkers registered in Q4 1956 and neither has a mothers maiden name of Davis. Also it would have been helpful if you could have mentioned that you already knew Lucy's maiden name.

Have just spoken to my mum ans she thinks this could be her as she knows she was born in yorkshire.
Can you Find any records of her being married to William John Parker?
Or a death which would have been around 1979?

But how comes i can't find find Registration of his birth?

I think that you will find that the birth registration already posted in West Ham registered in March quarter of 1957 is the correct one as you have 6 weeks to get a birth registered which would allow you to register an end of October birth in the first quarter of the following year. West Ham transferred to Newham in 1965.Plaistow is approximately 5 minutes travelling distance from West Ham

Searched all quarters 1938 to 1956 inclusive for a marriage for Lucy Davis to William John Parker and have been unable to find one. Is it possible that Lucy was married before?

Lucy married an Albert F Burke in December quarter of 1940 in Poplar volume 1c page 763. Will now look for the marriage to William. Unable to find a death for Albert F between the marriages
