hello im not looking for alook as everyone did what they could to try and find my grandmother,i just wanted to know if this might be aposable be her father,her name was ada mary bassindale and i have found on the 1841 census these names hellen bassindale abt 1796 ,kirton in lindsey lincolnshire john bassindale abt 1828 kirton in lindsey jonathan bassindale abt 1791 in kirton in lindsey william bassindale abt 1833 kirton in lindsey was just wondering as she has john as her father do you think this could be him,thank you jopyce from holland

Is Kirton in thingy anywhere near Belton? Where was the Louisa born, Potty?

when she married in 1892 her father was aready dead just athought it might have been her dad

very true that would have made him about 40 i suppose ( not outragious) not some daft age (like 80 or something)

When she married 1893 she lived at West Derby. Also a marriage at West Derby a few years before of Elizabeth Bassindale. If Elizabeth was her sister and you look at Elizabeth's birth there is a Mary Hannah born the same area. Perhaps your ancestor went by the name she used when she married rather than her birth name and she is Mary Hannah. Irene

she named one of her daughters mary elizabeth but on all the birth cert she is down as ada mary melloe nee bassindale but mybe she could have been known by another name dont see why though

her father was down as liceuised vichuller,and her wittness were william speucer and mary jane bunfield

Below is the nearest birth reference I can find. Might be worth getting the cert to check father's name and get mother's name to help with searching/ That grandfather in 1871 seems a bit old to be looking after three young girls - wonder if mum and dad were living somewhere else. Possible if dad was a publican the pub wasn't suitable for the children. Have searched Salford for the 1871 - no other Bassindales. have now got birth cert of ada bassindale reads as follows 21 feb 1865 ,wroot father robert bassindale mother emma bassindale formerly williams but this dos,nt seem me getting any nearer to my grandmother as this ada dos,nt have middle name so what to do now joyce
