Hi can anyone help find a marriage for me? I have Arthur Cooke born abt 1911 and Stephen Samuel cooke born abt 1909. Their parents were George Cooke and Florence Kirkwhite. The family are from Nottingham. Also what does BRIVI mean, does any one know? Thanks Marcelle

Kirkwhite is a very unusual name...not foudn it in 1909, working back from then!

Have searched back to and including 1906. In 4 years there are no marriages for Kirkwhite at all!

Maybe 1910 or 1911? if not ill have to try and find more info from her. Thanks for looking Mandy and thanks for your help yesterday with my Thomas Upton. I checked IGI and got loads of info back to early 1700. Couldnt have done it without your help Thanks x

I wonder where Kirkbride came into it

Marcelle, when I was trawling the marriages for Kirkwhite, there were lots of surnames called Kikbribe. In fact, it's a place in Scotland isn't it? It seems Kirkbride is Florence's middle name, perhaps named after her mother's maiden name or something? It was quite popular to do that.
