Nicola, Just a thought. When you ordered the marriage certificate, did you give just the groom's name or did you also give the name Emily for his wife? It could be that the marriage certificate is the right one, but Emily is not the proper name for Christopher's wife. Perhaps she was mistranscribed on the 1901 census, or perhaps Emily was a middle name. I'd be inclined to order the certificate again just using the details from Ancestry, just giving the groom's name, and if you want a checking point, give Samuel as his father's name. Then just see what the certificate has to say as to his wife's name. Kath. x

I think there are two different Christopher Treweeks, both with fathers called Samuel. The Christopher we are interested in has Davey as middle name and was born 1861.

Hmm. Christopher and Emily are definitely together as a married couple in 1901, but I can't find them married in 1891, nor a likely Christopher Treweek/Emily Treweek living separately, nor a single Emily with birth details as on 1901. Curiouser and curioser!

I think there must be 2 Christophers, both born Kea, Cornwall, because the one in 1891 says he is 17 and single (even though the marriage was 1890), but on the 1901 census with Emily, he gives his age as 40. Kath. x

1901 has Lanivet Christopher Treweek 40 abt 1861 Head Kea, Cornwall Emily 40 abt 1861 Wife Ladock, Cornwall, Christopher is a farmer, with his own account and they have a servant. 1891 - can't see them, though there is a younger Christopher Treweek, born Kea with his parents. I suppose you could try to find an Emily pre-marriage on the census born in Ladock and then check her surname in the marriage registers?
