I have PM'd you both with my address, thanks. Jess I had thought that, but I have not found any record of a Painter in the area. I'm still mystified as to when Richard Foot died and where. |

Elise, Im afraid my mariners were absent for many of the census nights and the wife was just recorded as 'wife' or 'wife of mariner' on the census - no sign of hubby. |

Jeanette could you possibly be able to send me the image please? the last 4 were foot's, but no father was on the birth certificates, but on the back of the youngests - Elsie it has the name Richard Painter Foot written and on her marriage certificate it states Richard Painter foot as the father - I was wondering if this was the same person as Richard Erasmus Foot, or maybe a relative? |

they must be recorded somewhere, I thought that the port had to mark them down on a seperate sheet if they were going to be away at sea at the time of the census? It's a pain not being able to find them |

Not in my cases, I have never had 'Husband at sea' ever, the wife is always 'wife' or mariners wife' |

june, that could be him - is there any chance you could send me an image of it please? Jess - I have that bit of information already, but I don't have any other siblings to go with them. I'm also desperate to find his death as this will tell me if the 2nd batch of children Elizabeth had were his or not. |

I thought that even if they were away at sea at the time of the census, they were recorded as at sea, or were recorded on some other form, but everyone was accounted for. |
