Yes, I think I have to narrow it down to two Mary Clifford's born in the 1879 in the same town. The one you gave me Jeannette is who I'm thinking married Edward.

I think the Mary that married Edward was the 1879 Mary Ann Clifford. There is another Mary born that year, but something tells me that it isn't her. I'll get Edward's and Mary's marriage and see who her father is. Thank you for all your help. Kirsten

Kirsten the Mary that married Edward Hawley is not the Mary born in Beeston. As you can see from the above census in 1901 she was still at home. Now you just have to decide which Mary is yours. Georgina.

That is the Mary on the census info that I have because her age is only a year off the 1901 Mary who married Edward Hawley. Yet that Mary married Frank Emson in 1903 - I've already searched for her on familysearch. It looks like it may not be her after all...

If the 1881 census above is your Mary then she was still with her parents in 1901 so she couldn't have married Edward Hawley in 1900.......... Yes. It's strange because on familysearch there is no record of any Mary Clifford's marrying Edward Hawley's so I can't make sure I have the right one. I could always buy the birth of the Mary you found for me, Jeanette, but I want to make sure that she is the definate one. Is two years abit off to be the same person?

Mary Louisa Clifford married Frank Emson. I just need to establish whether Mary Lousia Clifford also married Edward Hawley a few years earlier. Thank you Jeanette, that could be her. Her 1901 census info says she was born in 1877 in Beeston...and her parents have the same name's as Mary Louisa's, yet my Mary had a son in 1903 - the same year Mary Louisa married Frank Emson.

Kirsten there were quite a few Mary Clifford's born in Nottingham between 1877-1879 so the one who married Frank Emson could be any of them. Hi Georgina, thank you for that. I've established that Edward had a sister called Emma, and I think that's her, only her age was mistranscribed. Do you know how I could find Mary's birth? On familysearch(.)org the only Mary Cliffords that were born in 1877/8 in Nottingham married Frank Emson on 1903, but had the same parents!
