I know i cant see the birth certificats at the achive but the place there are is a 10 min drive from it. plus i got other familys to check out at the achivies that i have more info on. my grandads knew more about his family than my nana. sarah will get there in the end but u are right when i find when miraim was born life will be a bit easyer. sorry to be so much troubble. sarah |

Sarah, Going to the Archives isn't going to help you yet. You can not see the birth certs ... you will only see what we see. These are the FACTS so far: Miriam Lubin died 2003 District No 3481D Reg No D15A Ent No 237 Dor 703 Registered: July qtr Miriam Bolton married Peter Lubin 1971 June qtr Teeside S. 1b, 1858 Miriam Freeman married Edward Bolton 1925 Miriam Freeman was born 8/10/1908 Middlesborough Births Dec 1908 Freeman Miriam Middlesbro 9d 618c You NEED to send away for this birth certificate and get BOTH parents names ... fathers name and occupation AND Mothers name and Maiden name. Then we can try and find the marriage of the parents for you. The marriage cert will hopefully give ages at marriage (so we can track the births) AND Fathers names and occupations. Hopefully, this will then take us to 1901 census, after which we can help you more. We NEED the names from Miriams birth cert, and you will not get this info from the archives.... only the birth cert will tell you. Dancer x |

Sarah, Hope I have this right: Your Nan: Doris Bolton b 1926 daughter of: Miriam Freeman & Edward Bolton married 1925. Miriam Freeman b 1908 d 2003 (Lubin) aged 94/95 is sister of: Henry Freeman Elizabeth Freeman are children of: Frederick Freeman & Mary Ardwood/Harewood ? Frederick Freeman is brother of: Thomas Freeman Gina/Jenny Freeman Elizabeth Freeman Polly Freeman Miriam Bolton married Peter Lubin 1971 Is the above correct ? If so, we need to fill in some dates ! Are you 100% sure that Miriam MARRIED Peter in 1871 ... cos if she did then she would have died as Miriam Lubin 2003.... and NOT as Bolton as Fiona states above. Why do I sense some doubt about your Nan Doris, being born in 1908 to her Mum Miriam being only 18 years old ???? whats so doubtful ?? Dancer x |

If it is her death then this might be her birth index which would give you both her parents names. Name: Freeman, Miriam Record Type: Births Quarter: December Year: 1908 District: Middlesbrough (1875-1968) County: Co. Durham North Riding of Yorkshire Volume: 9d Page: 618c |

Hi Sarah, If you're dyslexic I understand about what I thought were typing errors or spelling mistakes, so sorry about that :( these website we use for our research mainly go by exact spellings, so a letter out of place makes a big difference. Give us a shout if we can help any more, you do really need to order your great-grandparents marrige cert though, then we'll have some real facts to base our searches on Bye for now Sam |

Hi sarah, Please don't take this the wrong way .... but your Nana may be wrong inthat her Grandad's name being Fred ... that could be just the name he was known as. My Grandfather was Jim ... turns out on his Birth cert he was Douglas. I'm afraid there is no quick or easy way to do this hobby until you get onto the census's with definate information ... and that only comes from certificates. Dancer x Good Luck at the Archives. There are 11 Frederick Freeman's on the 1901 census in Yorkshire alone ... any one of them could belong to your family. |

No Frederick Freeman in sight yet .... You need to send for certificates Sarah .... to confirm parents names etc ... or we could very well chase up the wrong tree: ie, I've found this George b 1873 in Yorkshire on the 1881 census ... but we don't KNOW he's YOURS: George Freeman abt 1873 Hull, Yorkshire, England Son 28 Passage St Rooms, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England Henry Freeman abt 1869 Hull, Yorkshire, England Son 28 Passage St Rooms, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England John H. Freeman abt 1847 Hull, Yorkshire, England Head 28 Passage St Rooms, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England John W. Freeman abt 1867 Hull, Yorkshire, England Son 28 Passage St Rooms, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England Kate Freeman abt 1880 Hull, Yorkshire, England Daughter 28 Passage St Rooms, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England Mary E. Freeman abt 1871 Hull, Yorkshire, England Daughter 28 Passage St Rooms, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England Robert Freeman abt 1876 Hull, Yorkshire, England Son 28 Passage St Rooms, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England Sarah A. Freeman abt 1849 Hull, Yorkshire, England Wife 28 Passage St Rooms, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England I could go through all the census's like this ... with Sammy's help x (Hi Sammy) but we would be wasting our time without some definate facts to go on. If when you get the marriage certificate it says Miriam was 25 this is a possible birth. Name: Freeman, Miriam Record Type: Births Quarter: March Year: 1900 District: Tadcaster County: West Riding of Yorkshire Volume: 9c Page: 968 Might be more possible given the district of marriage that Miriam was born 1908 Name: Freeman, Miriam Record Type: Births Quarter: December Year: 1908 District: Middlesbrough (1875-1968) County: Co. Durham North Riding of Yorkshire Volume: 9d Page: 618c |

IF ... and its a BIG if, the family from the 1901 census is YOUR Miriam's family ... then here is her parents marriage entry: Marriages Dec 1897 BULMER Harriet Wakefield 9c 70 Freeman George Thomas Wakefield 9c 70 You need to send away for this marriage cert and find out WHO there fathers are and the occupations of each, so we can trace then through the census's ! Please watch your typing/spelling Sarah, the surname is Bolton not Botlon, very confusing. The maiden name of your Nan's mum is Freeman, so am I right in thinking Miriam is your Nan's mother? Sam |
