If it helps, probably is the right marriage. My ggg grandmother's name (on baptism and marriage record) was Mary Ann, however, on the censuses, children's certificates and her death cert she is down as Ann. Chloe |

Laura Its a case of which one is correct, I have had this before and the only real way to find out is to send for another certificate of one of the other children, if there are any. Do you want the original? Victor |

Thanks so much Victor. The dates would match up, it must be them too much of a coincidence otherwise!!! What do you think her name actually is then? Birth of her child gives Codland and marriage gives another! |

Laura How does this fit with you. From 1837. Charles Bacon married Mar 1848 Aylsham Vol XIII Page 15 Mary Ann Codlin married Mar 1848 Aylsham Vol XIII page 1? Could this be the elusive marriage???? Victor |

I searched marriage from Charles' 16th birthday until the birth of thie 1st child (as far as I can see) in 1851. I searched both of their names and cross refernced but no Codlands came up. |

Laura Is George the first child? Trying to find out when they would have married. With them both coming from Norfolk there is a good chance they married there. Victor |

HAve you looked for the marriage under the name of Charles Bacon??? Can't seem to find that John Codland (definitely says Codland on image) on any other census though. |

Not sure if this is much help to you - but there's this on the 1901 census Name Age in 1901 Birthplace Relationship Civil Parish County/Island View Image John Codland 40 Norwich, Norfolk, England Head Norwich Norfolk Keren H Codland 47 Norwich, Norfolk, England Wife Norwich Norfolk Only thing that is coming up. Will carry on looking. Also writing out personal statement for job application too, so jumping to and fro |
