I'm lost ... or have I been had ?? Something don't make sense ? Geof, you are the one who normally points us all in the right direction (well definately me anyway !), surely you know about 1881 and the IGI, you could have found this info yourself ?? or has this been a set up. I have looked on the IGI for you Geof but can't find any Robert jnr's christened in/at or around that time anywhere. I'm going up. Goodnight folks Elaine :-)

Geoff Report 24 Jul 2004 00:33

Sorry Lynda I should have known that you wouldn't make it up. I will write to those 2,500 websites in the morning and tell them they were wrong. Thanks for putting things straight.

Geoff I think, young man, you will find the stone was laid in 1804. I know because My GGG Grandfather laid it, he only said last week, "blimey that stone wern't 'alf heavy me girl". If you don't believe him ask his Mum, she does my ironing on thursday's I'll get her to come on here, when she's finished and she'll tell you!!! You may have to wait until the night though 'cos she goes to line dancing after ironing. Lynda

Lynda I can do without people trying to mislead me in these serious genealogical matters - the foundation stone of Westminster Cathedral was laid in 1895 so my ancester could not have been baptised there in 1841. I've a good mind to report you for the passing of false information - always check your sources for corroborative evidence. :( Helen YOU found the information for me on the Internet - it must be right; how dare you suggest otherwise!

Lynda, Did they get married before or after 1837 ? I'm gob smacked .. surely then the age of 97 must be a mis transcription ? Geof, I think its amazing ... and having all those servants. I can imagine the household in all its glory ... what a vision .. wonderful. Elaine :-)

Shan

Shan Report 24 Jul 2004 00:10

Can't be any other explanation can there really !! The mind boggles ... I think the 97 year old is your mans Mum not wife ! I wonder if her husband is lerking in any of the 100 servants quarters ! ?? and they couldn't find him on Census night ! Bet your Playboy was playing hide and go seek !

Geoff

Geoff Report 24 Jul 2004 00:03

Elaine I've heard of cases where a daughter has a child and it is brought up by grandparents as one of theirs - do you think that this could have happened here?

Unknown

Unknown Report 24 Jul 2004 00:01

NO WAY ... the 97 year old wife can't possibly be mum to 12 year old son .... she must be Grandma ... ?? surely ... are you having a laugh Geof ! Now I've seen it all ... I can't take this smile off my face ! What a brilliant way to end the day ! Elaine :-)
